(Rough) Schedule

Take regular breaks during the training. We suggest aiming to take those breaks after Building Skill with Practice, Memory and Cognitive Load, and How Not to be Wrong About AI. It may feel strange to break before the wrap-up, but the discussions in that final episode are relatively deep and it can help to ensure that participants are refreshed and ready to reflect everything covered previously.

Time Management

As with Instructor Training, one of the major challenges of delivering this module is time management. Most of the exercises in the curriculum are discussion-based, and participants bring many varied and interesting perspectives. You can expect many interesting discussions but should also be mindful not to allow things to run too long or pursue tangents. Exercise your judgement as a Trainer to manage the duration of these discussions, and try to keep them on topic.

You might find it helpful to gather participants’ written responses to some exercises in the Etherpad first, before delving into some of those in more detail when time allows.

Help Us Improve The Training

This training curriculum is under active development. Given the rapidly-shifting technological and policy landscape of AI (coding) tools, it is likely to need regular modifications. This means that your feedback is even more important than usual! Take notes while/after you teach the module, then open issues on the repository to let us know what works, what does not, and what is missing – and pull requests to implement those changes if you have time!
